Black and minority ethnic communities have disproportionately been affected by Covid-19 in what has been an exceptionally difficult year. Patrick Vernon has also been involved in setting up the Majonzi bereavement fund. The Majonzi fund will be used to support BAME families, communities and faith groups affected by Covid-19. To support the Majonzi fund, Henny Beaumont, a political cartoonist for The Guardian, has created an artwork depicting some of the BAME key workers who had lost their lives during the pandemic. The Guardian is selling prints of Beaumont’s artwork with profits going to the Majonzi fund, and a billboard sized version of Henny’s artwork can be seen in Newington Green in North London.
