These images are from an outside broadcast at Kentish Town Community Centre, used by bbc5live as part of their publicity material for the programme. Three women were interviewed about how they had been affected by knife crime. (see images for details) Their stories were devastating, but the women were not diminished by their experiences. It was impossible not to admire the dignity and strength of these women in the face of such terrible loss. I drew several images, including a portraits of Benna Waite and TAzzz who are both spoken word artists. I made a connection with Benna. He saw my images on instagram and we started talking and have since gone on to collaborate on a piece of animated poetry about knife crime for the canary uk.
